Brian Black, 58, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel with the Rev. Dale Travis of Family Life Fellowship Church officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S.

Brian was born Dec. 5, 1953, in Philadelphia to Dave Black and Lorraine Black Wright. He graduated from Tascosa High School.

He had two passions in life, football and the railroad. He was a writer and wrote many articles on Texas
Panhandle football teams. Brian retired from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway, a job he had for more than 35 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include a daughter, Amy Broyles and husband Derick of Amarillo; a son, Jeff Black and wife Courtney; a brother Norman Cook and wife Phyllis; his precious grandchildren, Shai Young, Patrick, Rian and Aven Broyles and Anyssa, Eliyjah and Edyson Black.
