Obituary for Frank William Corder, Jr.

INTERMENT- Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon.

Frank was born December 11, 1953 in Collins County, Texas to Frank William Corder, Sr. and Vivian Marie Wiggins of Dallas. Frank was of a Christian Faith. Frank was a House Parent at the Southwest Church of Christ Children’s Home. He taught Bible School at San Jacinto Church of Christ, Southwest Church of Christ, and Clarendon Church of Christ. Frank believed in The Holy Bible, he spent many hours reading the Bible, day and night.  

Frank was a Devoted and Loving Son to Frank and Vivian, Loving Brother to Vivian Marie Corder Hatfield and Kathy Lynn Corder Swanson and Uncle to William Henry Corder and James Edward Swanson, Great-Uncle to Heather Renee Swanson and James Ray Swanson. Frank truly loved his family. When Frank found out his time was short, he participated and helped write his own obituary. He was at home when he passed, where he wanted to be. He was at Peace and ready to leave this place.  

Frank worked for Energas Company as a Clerk in the Mail-Room, now Atmos Energy. Until he started his own business, C&S Mobile Power Wash in Amarillo and continued when he moved to Clarendon. Frank worked in Texas, Kansas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma, Cleaning, Welding, and doing repairs on Grocery carts and Stock carts. Frank attended 1st through 6th grade at Humphrey’s Highland Elementary School. 7th through 8th at Bowie Jr. High School. 9th at Sam Houston Jr. High School, and 10th through 12th grade at Tascosa High School where he graduated from Tascosa High in 1973. All Frank’s schooling was in Amarillo. Frank played basketball, softball, and hardball through his school years. During his elementary, junior high, and high school years through Kids Inc. in Amarillo.  

PRECEDED IN DEATH BY – his father, Frank William Corder, Sr. on November 30, 2011; his mother Vivian Marie Wiggins Corder on January 13, 2015; his sister, Vivian Marie Corder Hatfield on November 13, 2001; and Marie’s husband, Steven Edward Hatfield on May 20, 2001.

SURVIVORS- his sister, Kathy Lynn Corder Swanson and husband Orville James of Amarillo; 2 nephews, William Henry Corder and James Edward Swanson; a great niece, Heather Renee Swanson; and a great nephew, James Ray Swanson.
