David Moore, 47, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Llano Mausoleum. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle.

Mr. Moore was born on Sept. 25, 1953, in Amarillo. He graduated in 1972 from Tascosa High School and in 1976 from West Texas State University with a degree in Business Administration.

He was in the oil and gas business and in property management. At age 20, he won accolades from the city of Amarillo for his heroism following a bus accident on the Canyon highway when he stopped to render aid.

He delighted in creating elaborate adventures for his young sons, Seanor and Tyson, that led them all over the area in search of "treasure." He liked fishing, camping and antiquing.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lou Moore.

Survivors include two sons, Seanor Moore and Tyson Moore, both of Amarillo; his father, A.C. Billy Moore and his wife, Betty, of Amarillo; a sister, Desi Moore and her partner, Shane Whalley, both of Austin; an aunt, Donna Anderson; an uncle, Don Anderson; a special friend, Brenda Stull of Amarillo; and several cousins.

The family will be at 2607 E. 22nd after the service.

The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176-0001; Young Life, 1806 S. Harrison, Amarillo, TX 79102; or a favorite charity.
