Earlene Yocum (Fawaz)

Thelma “Earlene” Fawaz, 62 year old Yreka resident, passed away suddenly in her sleep at her home on Monday, September 19, 2016. Earlene was born May 29, 1954 in Amarillo, Texas to James and Betty Yocum. Her father was an Air Force officer and, as an Air Force brat, Earlene traveled as a young child. The family’s travels included Okinawa, Japan, Denver, Colorado along with Florida and California. Amarillo, Texas was always home, though.

Earlene worked for 25 years as a purchasing clerk, making food orders for 2 major food companies. She loved shopping, spending time with her grandchildren, fishing and traveling.

Earlene met Ed Fawaz on-line in late 2006 and came to California in March of 2008. The couple was extremely happy together and they were married in Reno, Nevada in October of 2008.

Earlene is survived by her four children, Tosh, Kelli and her husband, Marcus, Beau and Terrill; Ed’s four sons and their spouses, Garrett and Carmae, Scott and Jennifer, Brandon and Jaclyn and Ryan and Ann; her mother, Betty Yocum; her sister, Darlene and her husband, Don; 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Bonnie.

At Earlene’s request, there are no services planned. Online condolences may be made at www.girdnerfuneral
chapel.com.

Girdner Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
