Michael was born November 29, 1953 in Amarillo to his parents, Donald J. and Edith Ann Pickett Harrington.  He was a 1972 graduate of Tascosa High School.  He married Brenda in 1976.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Michael is survived by his wife Brenda, by his daughter, Amanda Moore and her husband Keith of Amarillo; by his son, Dustin Harrington of Arvada, Colorado; his two brothers, John Mark Harrington and his wife Mila of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Steven Matthew Harrington and his wife Tammy of Amarillo; and by his grandchildren, Kamryn and Michael Moore
